  2. Losing Weight: Stick to the Script

Millions of people step on their scale in the bathroom each day. We pray for a lower body weight than the last time we used the scale. We dream of looking like David Hassellhoff and Pam Anderson in their prime. Do yourself a favor, throw the scale in the trash and get yourself a realistic and comprehensive exercise plan. Your fitness routine should be based off of real goals. A goal for a 5'9 male who weighs 245 pounds could be to lose 10 pounds in two months. Set realistic goals and stick to a strict script. If you have a fitness routine in place that calls for running on a treadmill for 30 minutes a day, make sure you actually put in the full 30 minutes. Cutting corners will get you nowhere fast, however, sticking to the script and religiously following a comprehensive workout plan, developed by a fitness expert, and tailored to your needs, will be the best thing you have ever done for yo

  3. Treadmill Shock Absorption Sytem

I am looking to hear from some expert runners, specifically those who run marathons. What I want to know is, what treadmills do you like to train on the most? Treadmill suspension and shock absorption systems are extremely important when buying a new treadmill. It is very important to make sure the suspension system on your treadmill will protect your ankles and knees. What good is having the biggest and baddest treadmill if it does a number on your knees? Making sure you have a top-of-the-line suspensions system is paramount when choosing a new treadmill to buy. Above all, you need to be comfortable and healthy when you are running. Running for long distances on treadmills can be disastrous on your knees if you are not careful in making sure buy a treadmill with legitimate shock absorbing technology. Eating well, staying out of the sun, and taking good care of your skin are all other factors in the equation of staying young, however, none of them are as critical as working out. Go to the gym. 5. Quick Workouts: Squeeze One In!

Find some time in the middle of your day to squeeze a quick workout in. Studies show, exercising for a quick 5 to 10 minutes in the middle of the day has been shown to generate energy and help relieve stress. On a ten minute break from work, try to do 3 sets of 25 push-ups, 3 sets of 25 crunches and stretch your body our for 2 minutes. 6. Set Goals for Your Physical Fitness

Aimless and sporadic workouts are nothing more than random glimmers of hope. Map out an exercise routine. Make goals for yourself. Put your name down on some paper, underline it and structure a physical fitness routine based off of concrete goals. Create bullet points with goals listed next to them such as "Lose 10 pounds within next 50 days"..."lose 1 minute off of my mile time"..."exercise for an hour a day, at least 3 times a week". Setting goals such as these will give you direction and direction breeds motivation. Try and set some fitness goals for yourself and see how you do. TRy and find some exercise equipment that you can use. Although it is very possible to get in shape on your own through running outdoors and doing equipmentless exercises such as push-ups and sit-ups, having a nice Life Fitness treadmill and an iPod can go a long way in making time fly by.

  7. My Review of the Precor EFX 556

After spending a good amount of time this morning on the timeless Precor EFX 556, I just wanted to write my own review on it. First of all, although the bio-mechanical movements of the EFX 556 are very fluid, gentle and comfortable. Although the machine feels good to exercise on in the sense that I can feel my muscles getting stronger and I work up a sweat, it certainly does not feel like I am running on a treadmill. Precor crosstrainers are a family of their own, as their stride length feels unlike any other I have ever felt. Precor's 556 crosstrainer feels like it targets my thighs and quads so well. I love it. Its just so simple to use. I love basic stuff that works well. The EFX 556 just has such a simple electronic and structural foundation. It has 20 resistance levels, 6 pre-programmed workout courses, WHICH ARE ALL EASY TO USE, and the angle of the CrossRamp® is super easy to adjust. This machine works

  8. Trip Report for Las Vegas, NV: The Venetian gets an "A+" for Fitness Center

After waking up far too early this morning, I decided to go and do my best to work off the pounds of garbage I have consumed since arriving in Las Vegas only two days ago. My poor stomach has had to digest bacon and cheddar fries, double cheeseburgers from Bob's Big Boy, sour gummy bears from the mini-bar, cups of sugar mixed with coffee and Cheetos. But it's simple right? After going on a junk-food binge, just make sure you get back to work the next day. Work out. Eat greens...you know the drill. Ok, so where were we? Oh yeah, the fitness center at the Venetian. Well, once I woke up and started my trek towards the gym at the Venetian, I was curious as to what I was going to find. I wondered...will it be super standard with rows of Precor EFX 556 Crosstrainers? Am I going to find over a dozen Life Fitness 95Ti treadmills like every other

So many of us decide to give it our all in the gym and really push our limits...for one night. Then, we do not exercise again for months. Sporadic workouts are pointless. Equivalent to a one night stand, working out with a buddy at his gym for 3 hours, once every two months, is meaningless, as it builds no foundation. Working out once in a blue moon will not help. Your body needs to physically train on a regular basis if you wish to improve upon your health. Nine workouts spread out over a 310 day period are nothing more than random glimmers of hope. Here is the solution if you are one of the many that exercise once every 2 months with a friend or whatever... next time you workout, it will will not just be a random occasion spawned by an impulsive thought in the middle of the day, this is because you will not let that happen.
