  1. Prevent You Own Fitness Apocalypse

Interested in staying fit after the Summer? Many people work super hard for a tight Summer figure and then lose their drive during the Fall and Winter months. When the days get shorter and the weather gets colder, people get less antsy about staying fit. Considering you are reading this health and fitness blog at the moment, you must be more interested than most people on finding ways to keep that blubber away.  I respect you for that. People tend to let their guard down in the Winter months and just kind of wait until Spring time to get their body beach ready. The cold weather makes people want to stay at home while drinking  apple cider and hot chocolate. Snowy roads and sunless days are not too motivating and you combine those two factors with the holiday festivities (Thanksgiving meals...Christmas parties) and the outcome is that people regress with their eating habits and as their bodies show it. Don't let your guard down. Stay ahead of the curve and always focus on ma

  2. Obesity is a Bigger Global Health Problem than Hunger

There has been an extraordinary shift in the world-wide health. According to an article in the British medical journal the Lancet, hunger is a hunger is not the biggest global threat towards human health anymore, obesity is. Children that used to die due to infectious disease are surviving at higher rates than ever due to treatment, however, kids are now more obese and are getting sick from being too fat. It doesn't take a think-tank of Nobel Prize winners to realize that humans are starting to eat far more than they need to.  These days, people don't eat to live, they live to eat. People eat too damn much and we're just not doing enough to educate the public on the dire consequences of poor eating habits. After all, Michelle Obama came out and said that kids should eat more fruit and vegetables and that somehow got her tagged as a socialist. The woman essentially said two plus two equals four and not everyone agreed with her. It was weird. One person said

  3. Buy a Chin/Pull/Dip Tower for Your Home!

Power towers, or Chin/Pull/Dip towers, are relatively inexpensive, have a small footprint and are super effective for building muscle. Having the ability to easily pump out some dips, pull up and chin ups, as well as numerous other exercises such as leg lifts, is extremely beneficial for anyone who likes to workout.  Total body exercises such as dips and pull-ups, are fantastic workouts for developing a strong core and upper body. I just set up a Weider 200 Power Tower in my living room and I do so many dips and pull-ups throughout the day, just because the power tower is there, staring me in the face all day. Impress yourself and impress your friends by setting up something as simple and low cost as a power tower. If you really want to hit the dips extra hard, get a leather or nylon dip belt and add some weight to it!

  6. Getting Older is a Good Thing!

We all have different paths in life.  For me,  the path has zigged and zagged, and it still will do that.  Life isn't as easy as following a map.  It never will be.  Adventures will pull you in different directions.  Surprise you.  You will reinvent yourself several times, and each you—that you were or will be—are you, in that moment, and in each and every moment in your life, you are growing.

Maybe what I’m saying is all a big cliché—the part about life being an adventure.  Maybe you know that anyway, because you’re smart.  But clichés are only truths that have been said so often that they have lost their strength, and our eyes glaze over them.  Time flies when you’re having fun.  You only get back what you put in.  That kind of stuff. Here’s the cliché I’m circling: getting older is a good thing—the alternative
