The health benefits of lemons have been clear for centuries. Yet when we are growing up learning how great apples, oranges and carrots are, we weren't taught to pack a lemon with our lunch. But why not? Lemon juice aids in digestion and detoxifies our liver. Lemons are full of pectin, anti-oxidants, calcium, magnesium, vitamin C and citric acid. Next time you remind yourself to not forgot the fruit isle at the grocery store, remind yourself to buy some fresh lemons. Lemons have many nutrients needed for a healthy body and mind. When you are at home, cut up a lemon in four slices, pour a cup of cold water, squeeze the lemon juice out and drink up!
